Help & FAQ
How up to date are the tee times?
Tee times are updated every few minutes; the next few days most often, and dates further out a little less often. The List tab shows when the last check finished and how many minutes ago. Anything too old to trust is hidden rather than shown stale and only shown once it has been confirmed again. It is not a live feed, and the booking system always has the final word on what is actually available.
Do you charge anything, or add to the price?
TeeFinder is completely free to use and adds nothing to the price you are shown. You are redirected to book and pay with the club, its booking platform or the deal seller.
Why do some courses and tee times show two prices?
Some clubs sell a different price to each kind of golfer: SAGA Affiliated and Visitor, and sometimes Student, Junior or Senior. Where a club does, TeeFinder shows the range and names each price. Use the Price filter to show only the one that applies to you.
What can TeeFinder do?
- Games. Plan a round with friends from the Friends tab: add the tee times you'd play, invite your friends on WhatsApp, and lock in the one that suits everyone. Costs and settling up stay in the game.
- Tournaments. Start one from the Friends tab: one day, several days or a whole season, on one course or each at your own club. Choose from 40+ formats, invite your friends on WhatsApp, and the leaderboard adds up as the cards come in.
- Scores. Hand in a card from Friends > Scores: share it from 18Birdies or Garmin, upload a screenshot from any golf app, or take a photo of the paper card. TeeFinder reads it, scores it with the course's stroke index, and adds it to your tournaments. Or tap Score a round to keep score hole by hole as you play.
- Friends. Add friends with your link on WhatsApp to see their TeeFinder handicap, the clubs and badges they've collected, and what's owed between you.
- Your Passport. Collect clubs and badges as you use TeeFinder and lower your TeeFinder handicap, a bit of fun that isn't your golf handicap. Find it in Settings.
- Siri and Widgets. In the iPhone app, ask Siri for tee times or your next round, and add TeeFinder widgets to your Home Screen.
- Alerts. Set an alert for a club or a region and TeeFinder watches for tee times matching it. When a new matching one is released, TeeFinder sends you a notification with the details.
- Saved Searches. Once you've set some filters, a heart appears at the top right of the List tab, next to your location. Tap it to save that search. It appears in your Saved tab, and tapping it runs the same search again.
- Weather Planner. Home shows a 10-day forecast for your home location. Tap a day to see it hour by hour from sunrise to sunset, with a wind and gust graph you can drag through, and the nearby courses with tee times that day. Every tee time also shows the weather for its hour; tap it to see the hours of your round.
- Day and Grid Views. A club's tee times show one day at a time, or every day at once as a grid. Choose which under Default tee view in Settings.
- Saved Tee Times, Deals and Courses. Tap the heart on any tee time, deal or course to keep it in your Saved tab. Favourite courses and saved tee times also show on Home.
- Dark and Light Mode. TeeFinder follows your phone's setting. To keep it light or dark, choose it under Appearance in Settings.
- Course Maps. The Map tab shows every club on one map; tap a club to open it. On a club's page, the Map shows where that club is and where you are, without leaving the page.
Notifications on iPhone
In the TeeFinder iPhone app, turn on Notifications in Settings. In Safari on iPhone, notifications only work once TeeFinder is added to your Home Screen: tap Share, then Add to Home Screen, and open it from there. Then turn on Notifications in Settings and allow them in your phone's settings.
Can I sync across devices?
Signing in with Google or Apple keeps everything in step across your devices: favourite courses, saved tee times, deals and searches, alerts, games, tournaments and scores. Without a sign-in, your favourites live only on the phone or browser you set them on, and clearing its data removes them.
Are my TeeFinder scores and handicap official?
No. Scores and handicaps in TeeFinder are for your games with friends. They aren't sent to GolfRSA or HNA and don't change your official handicap index.
